Thank You Krista Hennebury from Poppyprint

I'd like to thank Krista Hennebury for her amazing support in hosting a Canada Day giveaway last week. She lives in beautiful British Columbia where her blog chronicles her life of sewing, designing, baking, walking, and taking photos. She is a geologist by training and a wife and quilter by choice! She has quilted for 19 years and got started by signing up for a row by row class at a local quilt shop. Today she is a most respected and sought after teacher and designer in the world of improv quilting. Krista is an active member of the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild.

2015 was a big year in her quilting development. Her book, Make It, Take It, was published by Martingale and then she won 1st place in the Negative Space category at QuiltCon.  Here are a few photos of her work that inspires so many other creative quilters.

Krista says, "Even though the act of sewing is a solitary one, we can share our passion with a local, national, or global community in person or online." The opportunity to travel and teach nationally and internationally is an honour and Krista enjoys this tremendously. Just last month she taught in Newfoundland, at the Canadian national Quilt Show in Ottawa, and then off for another few days to Yellowknife, capital of the Northwest Territories. Spring 2020 you can join her on an Alaska cruise through the Holland Cruise Line.

Krista is a very well respected Canadian creative and taught a couple classes at the 2019 Canadian Quilt Show. She travels across Canada and the US to teach her modern take on sewing quilts. Here is her latest contribution to the improv sampler compilation in this edition.

Thank you Krista for hosting the Maple Leaf Giveaway. Deb Matthews is the lucky winner of her very own iconic red maple leaf for her backyard!
