Homage to Hockey in Canada

As we approach the first anniversary of the hockey bus crash near Humboldt Sk, my heart and prayers go to all the families touched by that fateful night.  This particular backyard quilt has so much of my story.

These backyard quilts are made in Humboldt, SK. And this printer also designed all the marketing for the Humboldt Broncos.

The tragic bus accident of April 5, 2018 touched everyone in this town. And our country. As I write these words, I am wiping tears from my eyes. This backyard quilt is my very ,very, very small attempt to pay homage to the people of Humboldt, the hockey families, all the First Responders and medical personnel, and everyone touched by that night.

Of course, quilters did what quilters do…. Make quilts to comfort others. 4000+ quilts were distributed to anyone affected by that accident. The local quilt shop spearheaded the completion of this massive project. From sales of this quilt, I donated $250 to  Haus of Stitches, and will continue support this most generous shop owner with all sales from this design.

Remember:  A quilt makes everything better!
